🚀 We’ve just launched SPACE Design System 2.x. This version comes from a simple realization after working with different teams — most systems don’t struggle because they lack features, they struggle because they’re too rigid to adapt in real projects. So instead of adding more layers, we changed the approach. SPACE 2.x moves away from heavy reliance on design tokens and introduces a theme settings–driven model. The goal is to make customization more practical, especially for teams who prefer working directly from the UI rather than managing multiple dependencies. Here’s what’s changed: - Built on Tailwind CSS v4 - Theme control from the Appearance UI - Components redesigned to adapt to theme settings - Clear component-level README documentation - Better performance with faster load times - Improved accessibility across components - Compatible with Drupal 10 and 11 One important thing — 2.x is not backward compatible with 1.x. This isn’t a small upgrade, it’s a different direction. If you’re starting something new or planning long-term, this version is what we’d recommend.
