NEWS: More than two in five UK tech workers are said to have experienced burnout at least once a month, according to a report from health insurer Bupa UK and employee benefits provider YuLife.   The report, Tech’s Hidden Health Cost, draws on a YouGov survey of 5,052 UK adults working in the tech sector and highlights what it describes as rising levels of stress, fatigue and delayed healthcare among employees, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).  Richard Norris, commercial director at Bupa, said the pace of modern working life is making it difficult for employees to prioritise their health, whilst Sammy Rubin, founder and executive chair of YuLife, said that traditional wellbeing programmes are failing to address day-to-day behaviours. “Real change happens when wellbeing becomes part of daily life,” he said.  Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/e9XFYK-D

Swiggy gives you paid leave when your pet is sick, while Zerodha gives you written promise that you won't be fired because of AI. Most companies celebrate employee wellness once a year with a yoga session and a motivational speaker. These two went and wrote it into their actual HR policy. Swiggy launched something called "Paw-ternity Policy." → A day off when you adopt a pet  → Sick leave for vet visits  → Bereavement leave when your pet passes away  → Work from home while your new pet is settling in We have always said pets are family. Swiggy became one of the first Indian companies to actually mean it on paper. Zerodha focused on the anxieties employees feel but rarely talk about. → Health: Bonus if the team's average BMI stays below 25  → Job security: Written promise that no one gets fired because AI made their role redundant  → Mental health: Moved to 3 days in office after fully remote started hurting wellbeing No town halls about wellness. No posters in the cafeteria. Just quiet policy changes that show up when life actually gets hard. That is the part worth paying attention to. Most employee engagement still looks like Tambola nights and pizza parties. Fun in the moment but forgotten by Monday. But when your pet is sick and your company gives you leave, you remember. Employee interest in ICHRAs is high. The Employee Benefit Research Institute and Greenwald Research 2025 Workplace Wellness Survey, published last month, reveals that eight in ten employees are at least somewhat interested in an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement. This mirrors the increased amount of chatter in the employer market. While interest doesn't equal adoption, it often serves as a leading indicator.
