Since the launch of the "Checkout QR Code" for both Weixin Pay and WeChat Pay HK in late 2023, thousands of drivers have adopted this new payment method. Weixin Pay is also collaborating with major payment networks like Octopus Holdings Limited to enhance Hong Kong's payment landscape. As of January 2025, the monthly number of offline transactions through Weixin Pay and WeChat Pay HK in Hong Kong's taxi industry has seen a nearly 400% year-on-year increase, while the number of monthly active merchants has surged by over four times compared to the previous year.
