A while ago I spoke with someone with advanced macular degeneration — a condition when a person has peripheral vision, but can't see in the center of their visual field. I was curious to know what this person finds important when using a mobile app. The answer was almost obvious — KEEP IT SIMPLE. Place things in predictable places. Make navigation flows predictable and consistent. Use fonts with enough contrast — black on white works best. Not too small. And don't overload the screen with graphic elements, especially moving or blinking ones. That was it. Simple, right? And yet so many apps get this wrong. #MobileAccessibility #a11y #InclusiveDesign #DigitalAccessibility #Abra
