Invested my time in the course “How to Build a Culture of Appreciation as a Manager” — a powerful reminder that appreciation should be part of everyday leadership. Key takeaways: • Make it personal — ask about life beyond work • Recognise effort and progress, not just results • Avoid empty praise — be authentic, specific, and impactful • Build a culture where appreciation is part of the team’s rhythm Valued team members go the extra mile — they take risks, stay creative, and love what they do. #TeamCulture #Appreciation #Recognition #GrowthMindset https://lnkd.in/d_vKCmBT

What Ender N. and I ( Christopher Kouns ) are seeing in the market is very similar to the points laid out in this article ... Leaders of all kinds (not just HR leaders) must take active ownership for the business, they must take an active role at the table to ensure talent is distributed and utilized correctly and they must be ahead of the curve in terms of technology. Be active, Be organized, Be Prepared because it's an unstable world out there. https://lnkd.in/ePUKVpSp #CHRO #CHROS #HRATL #Leadership #Priorities #HRLeadership #FutureofBusiness

I found this article while searching for leadership materials for a Library Management Class. The 'Great Detachment' is the quiet disconnect happening in many workplaces where people show up but feel less connected to their work. Sometimes it starts at the top. When leaders spend most of their time behind a desk, they can unintentionally create distance. Teams notice when leaders are not visible, are disconnected or not engaged. To bridge that gap: •Be present. Step out of the office and check in with your team. •Listen intentionally. Ask how things are going and really listen. •Clarify purpose. Help people see the “why” behind what they do. •Recognize effort. Small gestures of appreciation matter. Connection does not come from meetings or memos. It comes from genuine interaction. https://lnkd.in/ediqPux4 #Leadership #EmployeeEngagement #TeamCulture #GreatDetachment

Ever feel like leadership can start to seem a bit like an ivory tower? It’s not that far in the rearview mirror for many leaders — they can still remember being “boots on the ground,” close to the work, knowing how every detail fit together. Some even remember when the company was small enough that everyone knew each other’s spouses’ names and favorite sports teams. But over time, that connection can fade. Leaders start feeling out of touch with how things actually get done. And it goes both ways — employees might rarely see the people making the big decisions, which can create frustration or resentment when those decisions hit close to home. That distance quietly chips away at engagement, productivity, and creativity. If it feels like people aren’t going that extra mile anymore, it might not be a motivation problem — it might be a connection problem. Maybe it’s time to take a fresh look at your org structure and find new ways to bring leadership and teams closer together. https://lnkd.in/eSVZ8iXT

When a CEO’s leadership style creates more problems than it solves, organizational performance can suffer—sometimes dramatically. Research from McKinsey shows that up to 45% of a company’s performance variation is directly tied to the effectiveness of its CEO. Gallup finds that managers and leaders account for 70% of the variance in employee engagement. In other words, when leadership goes wrong at the top, the consequences cascade quickly.
