LinkedIn will be a better platform if: 1. Political discourse is banned. 2. Original content is prioritised over repetitive content. For example, when commenting on a news story, most of the discourse is repetitive, while there are just a few original ideas. Maybe this can be gamified through "badges". 3. Like most tech startups, implement a system where users can vote on upcoming features. 4. Everyone can have a "Resources" section where they can showcase the books / videos / ideas / things that have inspired them professionally. 5. There was a way to match with mentors (either volunteers or paid). 6. There is a way to report / highlight untruths in someone's career history (E.g. they've claimed to do something they haven't actually). A robust system for preventing this is missing, but I acknowledge it could be difficult to implement. 7. There was an option to make job listings more interactive so that one could showcase more of the company's culture. 8. Allow just one description next to your name rather than three paragraphs worth of titles. Hopefully, this removes some of the fluff. 9. The word "thrilled" is blacklisted and automatically replaced by "exhausted". Discuss.
Not gonna lie I was thrilled and delighted to read this post
Just say Hello...
1moSo true .. when you read some career descriptions you wonder why they were not awarded the Nobel or similar 🤣; Your point no 1 is an absolute must for LinkedIn. There are 1000’s of other avenues to showcase an individual’s political views.
