Today marks another year with Anjana, and I've been reflecting on something Harvard's Grant Study has been tracking for 85 years: the single strongest predictor of human happiness isn't career success or wealth... it's the quality of our relationships. The research is compelling. People with strong life partnerships tend to live longer, report 30% higher life satisfaction, and even earn more throughout their careers. A UC Berkeley study found that entrepreneurs with supportive spouses are twice as likely to still be in business after five years. But data only tells part of the story. When I landed in the U.S. with less than $50, it was relationships that built my foundation. And when I started GreenBrilliance in 2007, it was Anjana who believed in the vision before we had a single customer. (and continued to even when the downtimes put strain on our household) She's the one who reminds me that success without someone to share it with is just noise. When the solar industry keeps correcting and companies were closing left and right, she is one of the silent forces that keep us grounded in our values—integrity over shortcuts, people over metrics. Building a company ranked among the nation's top solar contractors? That's an achievement for sure. But building a life with someone who makes you better at being human? That's the real win. To Anjana, thank you for being my partner in every sense. For keeping our house full of laughter, our table full of friends, and for showing our three kids what real partnership looks like. The Grant Study got it right: good relationships keep us happier and healthier. I'm a testament to that!
Happy anniversary, my friend. Beautifully said — and so true. The Grant Study’s findings echo exactly what your journey reflects: that the real compounding asset in life is the strength of the partnerships we build. Your story — from arriving in the U.S. with $50 to building a nationally recognized company — is powerful on its own. But the way you attribute that success to the depth of your relationship with Anjana speaks even louder. It’s rare to see someone highlight the human foundation underneath the entrepreneurial one. Wishing you both many more years of shared purpose, growth, and joy. Truly inspiring.
Lovely

Happy Anniversary 💪🏾💙🎊
Thank you for sharing, and Happy Anniversary!
Spending time with Sumit, Anjana and their youngest daughter at their home over a warm lunch left a lasting impression on me. The heartfelt hospitality, the laughter shared, and the delicious baigan bhaja—lovingly prepared by Anjana —made that afternoon truly special. What struck me most was the invisible strength that Anjana brings to their home and Sumit’s journey. She is not just his partner but the steady pillar supporting every step forward. Her thoughtfulness, presence, and the way she encourages everyone around her are remarkable. The sense of togetherness and teamwork between them, and the way the family rallies around one another, make their bond inspiring. On their anniversary, it’s impossible not to admire how Sumit and Anjana complement each other. True success, I realised that day, comes not just from ambition or achievement—but from having someone as genuine, supportive, and caring as Anjana by your side. Here’s wishing Sumit and Anjana many more years filled with love, warmth, and delicious moments together.
