27 months after I returned to the London real estate insurance market, it’s time for me to return to my retirement ! This Friday will be my last day of employment. I’ve very much enjoyed my time as Chairman of the Gallagher Specialty Real Estate team and I’ve had the opportunity to work with a number of great people. I’d like to think that the team is stronger now than it has ever been and it’s that belief that allows me to walk away safe in the knowledge that they will continue to flourish. A big thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey between April 1984 and now. I hope to see you around.

Make sure you do it this time Steve, you deserve it. From a personal point of view, I will always be indebted to you. You took a massive punt on me all those years ago and literally changed my life. It would great if I could drag you back into London for a day and you'll allow me to buy you lunch as a small thank you - if you're still off the booze, it's ok! My capacity for fine wine has improved, so I'll drink your share and I'll make sure your Coke has an umbrella and sparklers in it so you don't feel left out😂 See you soon
