Alright, we admit it. 🤭We haven’t been THAT quiet about it… The #2026Census is underway and we can’t stop thinking about how census data will help provide Canadians with timely, high-quality data for the next five years! Haven’t filled out your questionnaire yet? There’s still time. Do it today! 📋✍️ For more info: https://lnkd.in/er2FPkpQ.
The questionnaire I got was strictly based on spoken/understood languages in the home and school. Was this the same for everyone or are the questionnaire tailored to each household? It was quite different from past census questionnaires.
What if you didn't receive a form?
One thing I’ve learned from planning conversations is that uncertainty often feels smaller once people can actually see the full picture. Data doesn’t make decisions for us, but it helps us make them with more confidence.
Hi, I emailed a few weeks ago and asked for our household (one address) to receive two separate forms because there are 2 separate families living here. [I tried to complete one form for both, but had to suspend it because it's a long form one, and there's too much I don't know about them.] How long should I wait before asking again ?
Census data doesn't get nearly enough crdit. It's the foundation that good policy is built on; housing, healthcare, income support, community planning. When Statistics Canada gets this right, real people's lives get better in ways they may never trace back to a well designed questionnaire
Finished mine weeks ago. Super quick because it was the short form.
Just hurry up, I'm waiting for the new data... Only comes out in 2027, right?
What if you received 2 for the same household?
No, Statistics Canada | Statistique Canada, you haven't been quiet about it, but that's the way it should be. And it's been fun to follow along. Census data are essential for evidence-informed decision-making and are relied on every single day by individuals, businesses, governments, researchers, not-for-profits, communities and so many others. Since the first national census was carried out in 1871, we now have access via StatsCan to a rich pool of authoritative, comparable and internationally recognized data about Canada that provides critical snapshots in time, but also longitudinal insights. We also have access to StatsCan's official statistical releases, reports and other publications that use census data and other sources to help us understand even better Canada's society, economy and environment. Thank you, StatsCan, for all that you do. To anyone who has not yet completed their #2026Census form, just do it!
