🏡What if there was an app that turned your home into a mini power plant?⚡
Helping you save money on your own bills, while at the same time actively redistributing energy back into the grid.
That’s the vision behind Boldr, an Ada Ventures portfolio company which announced an oversubscribed $3.2M seed round yesterday. As a pre-seed investment fund, we are proud to have been the first investor to lead the team's pre-seed.
Our energy grids are under unprecedented strain. Whether it’s the electrification of everything from heating to transport, or the proliferation of AI and data centres, energy demands are changing rapidly and infrastructure is struggling to keep up.
At the same time, households are finding it harder than ever to stay on top of soaring bills.
Madi A and his team are building the solution.
We can’t afford to wait years for new large-scale infrastructure, so Boldr are turning everyday at-home devices like HVAC, EVs, home batteries, and solar panels into flexible energy resources. Helping households cut costs while feeding critical capacity back into the grid at peak times.
Having already been backed by ex-Tesla Manufacturing Director KC McCreery and former SpaceX engineer Lewis Hong, this latest round includes funding from both sides of the Atlantic with Unconventional Ventures, Inclimo Climate Tech Fund, Prosegur, Techstars, S20 Fund, and VIVA Holdings, LLC coming on board.
It’s rare to find a team this strong on both hardware and software, and even rarer to see them execute at scale. We’re proud to back Boldr once again as they build the solutions the energy transition needs, in ways that make sense for real people. Excited to see where their next phase of growth takes them.
