Windows 10 is now out of support. What’s your plan for XP/7/10 apps? * Business-critical tools still tied to legacy OS builds * Security exposure from apps stuck on old runtimes * Packaging backlogs while teams push to MSIX * UAT queues and “who owns this app?” confusion New research from EfficientEther shows how packaging teams are prioritising remediation and speeding validation on Windows 11 without breaking change control. According to the EfficientEther 2025 Whitepaper, it’s practical steps, not new buzzwords. Download the whitepaper, share it with Desktop Engineering and ITAM, and start the conversation today. link here: https://lnkd.in/e3eW5PnR #ApplicationPackaging #Windows11 #EnterpriseIT #EndOfSupport

Microsoft just dropped Windows 11 November 2025 Update - one of the biggest updates of the year 1. A new Start menu UI is now rolling out with a single-page layout. There are two new views: 'Category,' which groups apps by Type, and the second new view is 'Grid.' 2. Battery on the taskbar is getting colourful icons (Red, Orange and Green) and percentage support. 3. Update and Shut down now finally works. This means Windows will no longer reboot after applying updates when you select 'Update and Shut down.' 4. A bug where Task Manager does not quit has been fixed These features were previously rolled out as an optional update in October, and now they're included in the November 2025 mandatory Patch Tuesday update. #Windows #Windows11 #WindowsUpdate #PatchTuesday #MS #MSFT #Windows1125H2 #Windows1124H2 #Windows11PatchTuesday #SecurityUpdate

#Onthisday in 2001, Microsoft launched Windows XP, the successor to both Windows 2000 and Windows ME. It was designed to unify the Windows NT and Windows 95 families into a single, stable operating system — setting a new standard for usability and performance. Though officially replaced by Windows Vista in 2007, XP’s reliability and popularity meant it remained the world’s most-used operating system until 2012 — long after its successor’s debut.
