Happy Women's Day! 🌸 The woman in this picture is my maternal grandmother, Ramani Indrakanti. Her story has inspired me for decades, and I believe it can inspire many even today. Born as the oldest daughter in a large family, she married young to ease the burden on her parents. But our grandfather, a man of progressive thinking, encouraged his family toward education and opportunity. Through his encouragement, she completed her Master of Arts in Hindi in her fifties. She taught us all that learning has no age. After our grandfather passed in the mid-nineties, she quietly took on a new mission: sponsoring education for kids who couldn't afford it. She helped fund part of my own education at a critical time, which made my Master's in the U.S. possible. She did it all by saving from a small pension, too proud and independent to ever ask for help herself. She taught us that taking initiative doesn't have to be constrained by circumstances. I owe a significant part of my success to her. Over the years, I've been fortunate to cross paths with so many remarkable women. Mentors like Jean. Incredible supply chain leaders like Gunjan, Deepa and Neelima. Partners in Jan Perrino, Karen Gleason. Colleagues like Brooke Zachman, Amanda Dyson, MBA, Hilary Hanoski, Juliana Ravetto, Priya Rajagopalan, and Melissa Mabon to name a few. Friends like Sreedevi, Deepthi, Sweta and Sireesha who have shown what quiet, determined excellence looks like. There isn't enough space to name everyone. But I'm deeply grateful.
