It’s probably not surprising that over the past few years I’ve been obsessed with one question: what if we applied eCommerce thinking to brick-and-mortar retail? That journey has led to building Flagship and recently, I had the chance to sit down with Pierre Le Manh on Project Management Institute’s The Shift Code podcast to talk about the reality of working to transform one of the most traditional industries out there. Here are three takeaways we unpack further in the episode: 1. Real change doesn’t happen overnight. You can’t take a retailer from 0 to 100 instantly, progress comes from thoughtful, incremental shifts. 2. Some of the biggest retailers in the world are still relying on PDFs and emails to run stores. It might sound unbelievable, but it’s true. 3. Digital-first brands are scaling physical stores faster than anyone expected. Why? They bring data-driven mindsets into spaces that haven’t had that luxury before. Transformation and change looks different in every industry, but the principles are often the same. This episode shares a few that are useful wherever you are.
