The response to Midnight in the War Room has been unreal.
During a recent trailer reveal and panel discussion, Thomas LeDuc (CMO at Semperis, executive producer and co-director) and Mickey Bresman (CEO at Semperis, executive producer) opened up about why we made this film and what it means for the people on the front lines of cyber.
Seeing the room fully engaged, hearing the reactions, and feeling the support from the community has been a huge moment for this project. Big updates coming soon.

Before I got into this fantastic industry, I was a filmmaker. But over the decade I've spoken with defenders and I've heard stories that could arrival any action movie. I've always thought there needs to be a cyber documentary that Cisos, defenders of all sorts can point to and say, see, This is why I do it. I've spoken with a lot of Sesos especially, who have a hard time describing exactly what they do to their friends, their families. I think generally society doesn't really. Understand the stakes of cyber war, but the overall mission is to create a broad, mainstream Netflix style feature length documentary that does this industry justice. We want to feel comfortable sharing information when something goes really wrong and we know that things go wrong. And the last thing that we want is for the Cecils. In many cases, they feel that in addition to them dealing with the actual incident that happened, they also have a target on their back now and they need to deal with that. Who this film they can know. It's not just them, there is more people thinking about it and what they do really matters. We're able to provide seesaws and others in our industry to basically share what does it mean from their point of view to be AC. So what is the mental health challenge that they need to deal with? How did they actually dealing with those situations? What is the actual story of our industry from the point of view of the industry, not from the outside looking in. There are three sort of guiding principles when we made this. One is absolutely no sales pitching, no vendor talk. Nope. Technology. This is about humans. It had to be entertaining. It had to be broadly marketable to the Netflix audience to really get our message out. And then three, we had to showcase a diverse range of voices, and that doesn't just include defenders. We've got cyber psychologist Mary Aiken in this documentary. We've got reformed hackers. We've got journalists. We really get the emotional side of what it takes to be a defender on the front lines.
This is just such a cool project that adds to making every Semperis employee even more proud to be a part of all of this, than we already are! 🙏
