SAP’s acquisition of SmartRecruiters is set to create a stir in the global HRIS market. From a user perspective, it makes sense. SmartRecruiters offers simpler integrations, job postings, and workflows. But for enterprises, is this just another migration to add to an already complex backlog? For recruiters, it’s great news. Many of the clients I’ve supported with SuccessFactors will need guidance on building their team over the next 3–5 years. So what’s your migration plan? Will you stick with your SI partner, or bring in contractors to deliver the work in-house? The SI vs contractor debate has gone back and forth for years. SI partners provide accountability and reduce internal risk if the capability isn’t there in the business, but you’re dependent on their team and what they bring to the table. Bringing on contractors is a more cost-effective and can help build internal IP. In my experience, a blend of both works best. Use your SI partner for design and escalation support, and contractors for delivery and keeping vendors honest. Keen to hear your thoughts.
