The AI Inflection Point Isn’t in the Cloud, It’s at the Edge The AI story is about more than just the big data centers. Zach Shelby, of Edge Impulse, tells how agentic architectures can help bring AI capabilities to the edge. AI model development has reached an inflection point, bringing high-performance computing capabilities typically reserved for the cloud out to edge devices. It’s a refreshing perspective compared to the all-consuming nature of large language models (LLMs) and the GPUs needed to run them. “You’re gonna run out of compute, power, energy and money at some point,” said Zach Shelby, CEO and co-founder of Edge Impulse, a Qualcomm Technologies company. “We want to deploy [generative AI] so broadly. It’s not scalable, right? And then it runs into so many reliability issues. It runs into power issues.” At the edge, power matters differ, according to the device. The upshot, though? These devices can run a variety of language models, but LLMs pose a noteworthy challenge. https://lnkd.in/ecRKitN8 Please follow Baljeet Singh for such content. #DevSecOps, #SecureDevOps, #CyberSecurity, #SecurityAutomation, #CloudSecurity, #InfrastructureSecurity, #DevOpsSecurity, #ContinuousSecurity, #SecurityByDesign, #SecurityAsCode, #ApplicationSecurity, #ComplianceAutomation, #CloudSecurityPosture, #SecuringTheCloud, #SecurityDevOps, #RiskManagement, #SecureCode, #ThreatDetection, #SecurityTesting, #CyberResilience, #OracleRightNow, #OracleFieldServiceCloud, #MulesoftDeveloper, #CertifiedMulesoft, #ScrumMaster, #OracleB2B, #CloudSolutions, #DigitalTransformation, #EnterpriseArchitecture, #TechLeadership, #SolutionArchitect, #MulesoftIntegration, #AgileMethodology, #CloudComputing, #CyberSecuritySolutions, #ITConsulting, #B2BTech, #CloudIntegration, #TechInnovation

Organisations building frontier AI are making very conscious decisions about the underlying infrastructure. It must scale efficiently, securely, reliably and adapt as requirements evolve. The OpenAI and AWS partnership announced today reflects a trend I’m seeing across financial services: as AI scales in production, infrastructure becomes a key decision point. Building the next generation of Agentic business processes requires systems and platforms purpose-built for AI workloads at enterprise scale. For Australian FSI, the same principles apply. Performance at scale, security in regulated environments, cost efficiency and flexibility as agentic AI capabilities evolve — these are the foundations that enable AI transformation at scale.
