Sarika Lamont’s Post

Third Transform and I’m once again leaving with a full heart, a tired body, and at least 20 more conversations I wish I had time to have. This week was a whirlwind in the best way. There were so many conversations about AI, and not just the obvious ones. Yes, we talked about AI’s impact on HR, business, and the world of work. We’re having more conversations now about things like bias in AI, and that matters. But there are also other conversations we need to be having more often with each other and on these stages. Conversations about the environmental impact of AI. Conversations about our role and responsibility as leaders as we build the policies, processes, and practices that will shape how these technologies show up at work. Conversations about what it really means to lead responsibly when innovation is moving faster than most organizations can keep up with. Because if HR and business leaders aren’t willing to ask harder questions about what’s being built, who it benefits, who it may harm, and what it’s costing us, then who will? And let’s be real: HR has already proven in many spaces that we are well suited to help lead this change. We sit at the intersection of people, behavior, systems, and business. We understand what happens when change outpaces trust, communication, and accountability. So let’s stop acting like this belongs to someone else. This is our work too! But beyond all of that, the biggest gift Transform continues to give me is community. This was my third one, and every year I leave reminded how important it is to keep pouring into spaces like this. The relationships, the learning, the laughter, the honesty, the people I got to meet, hug, reconnect with and even the many I didn’t get enough time with. That connection matters. Especially now. In a time where so much feels uncertain, disconnected, and heavy, community is not a nice-to-have. It’s necessary. It’s how we learn, how we grow, and how we build the kind of impact we say we want to make in the world. So I’m leaving grateful. For the conversations we’re having. For the ones we still need to have. For the challenge. For the honesty. And most of all, for the people. My people. ♥️ And yes — more photos, more people, and more appreciation for this community to come, because there’s no way one post can capture it all.🥹 Hebba Youssef Sharthok Chakraborty Lana Peters Brandon Ward Liana Schindler Dave D'Angelo Evan Sirkey Sabrina Muell Sofia Talavera Adam Weber Tracie Sponenberg Alex Seiler Kyle Lagunas Rhona Barnett-Pierce Ryanmae M. It was fantastic spending time with you, talking about what's working and what's not, and learning from your session 💡. Your energy and enthusiasm fills my cup, and I am so grateful for our new friendship. This is exactly the kind of community that makes Transform worth every bit of the tired body 😊
