Love this clip. It epitomizes what great leadership looks like. Sometimes, we need someone to be stern with us. What happens after that is just as important. People react differently to a stern talking-to. The great part about this clip is the "I believe in you" verbal and the "now go out there and do it" slap on the arm.
Holding people accountable is great, but re-enforcing to people why they're in the position they're in and that you believe in them to execute the task at hand - after you've held them accountable - is what allows them to reach new heights and be that much greater at what they do.
I personally LOVE this! 👏
True mentorship rarely looks polished or sounds comfortable. Sometimes it’s intense. Sometimes it’s loud. And often, it challenges you in ways that look uncomfortable from the outside.
The foundation of a powerful Coach–Player relationship is simple but demanding: both sides must relentlessly set aside pride and ego—every single day. When that happens, something special is built.
Trust reaches its highest level. Accountability becomes mutual. Respect is earned, not assumed. And peak performance becomes a natural byproduct, not a forced outcome.
Growth isn’t always gentle—but it’s always worth it and the true GOAL, despite wins and losses.
#Trust#Coachability#TEAM 🏅
Love this. This is a true leader. In tough times, hard position, telling someone or your team you believe in them sends a message 100x greater than what you think.
Some see this as love and a leader’s belief in their player.
Others look at it as mean and nasty.
I’d much rather a leader love me enough to be hard on me and hold me to a higher standard because they believe in me.
HOW to coach throw-ins with KIDS (my drills at Hull City FC U10 boys)
When should you do throw-in coaching with kids?
When they start doing throw-ins in matches!
Kids don´t need throw-in routines (neither do Pro´s!) - they need to understand space - that they can create many different spaces - and to use their own creativity and decision making... BUT they have to learn to do that.
Here are some of my drills from my throw-in coaching for Hull City Fc´s U10 boys.
Enjoy it.
One of the most expensive mistakes you can make is to not set boundaries.
Boundaries on your time. Boundaries on who has access to you. Boundaries on what information reaches you. Boundaries on your attention.
Why do so many professionals struggle with this?
Jen breaks it all down in her Fox Talk - Boundaries as Courage. Grab the link to the full video.

Guilt isn’t always a warning sign. Sometimes it’s a growth sign. If you’re learning to set boundaries, guilt often shows up first. Don’t obey it. Observe it. Where does guilt hit you hardest when you try to say no?

You must be in control of yourself before you can control your performance.
One of the most powerful ways to do that costs nothing and takes only a few seconds.
Your breath.
Great players learn to take a breath before stepping into the box, on the mound, or before a big defensive play.
Breathing helps you:
✅ Slow the game down
✅ Release tension in the body
✅ Clear the mind of the last play
✅ Lock back into the present moment
I love this video of Texas Baseball pitching coach Max Weiner taking his players through this in game during a mound visit.
This is ELITE mental performance coaching.
What's a situation where you could add a deep breathe to help get you back to the present moment?
