Samantha Cornmesser’s Post

The skills gap conversation looks very different when you're standing in a room filled with students demonstrating their talents. Next week will be my first time attending SkillsUSA's National Leadership & Skills Conference, and I'm excited to experience it firsthand. More than 110 hands-on competitions. Showcasing 6,800 students from across the country. 850 workforce invested companies represented. You'll be able to find me at Career College Booth #742 alongside six outstanding institutions: • Heavy Equipment Colleges of AmericaNational Aviation AcademyConcorde Career Colleges College • Tulsa Welding School-Jacksonville CampusJones Technical Institute (J-Tech)ECPI University I also plan to spend plenty of time exploring the exhibit hall and meeting the hundreds of organizations that are investing in workforce development. Events like SkillsUSA are a reminder that building the workforce of tomorrow requires strong partnerships between education and industry today. If you're attending SkillsUSA, stop by Booth #742 and say hello to me and Kelley Breton. Been before…who should I make sure to meet while I'm there? Career Education Colleges and Universities

I need to make it to that event. I thought it was mainly student competitions, I didn’t realize it was a conference as well!
