The biggest AI shift in software engineering is not code generation. It is how engineers think, collaborate, review, and make decisions with AI in the loop. At Sahaj Software's upcoming Devday in London, Jyoti Singh and Ash Shakrani will explore what that looks like in practice across the engineering lifecycle. As AI tools become more capable, the challenge is no longer just speed. It’s knowing where AI adds value, where human judgment matters most, and how engineering teams evolve without losing clarity or accountability. 🎤 AI Coding Agents: More than a code generator 📍 Sahaj Software, London 📅 14th May, 2026 🕕 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM [Europe/London] 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gtc5fJkF Curious about Intelligent Engineering? AI has changed how we write code. Now the bigger question is: how does it change engineering itself? At Sahaj Software's upcoming Devday in London, Ash Shakrani and Jyoti Singh will explore how AI assistants are being used across the software delivery lifecycle, from story refinement and solution design to implementation and code reviews. The session will also unpack: 🎯 Where should engineers rely on AI? 🎯 Where should they slow down? 🎯 And how do teams avoid handing over too much? 📅 14th May, 2026 ⏰ 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM (BST) 📍 Sahaj Software, London 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ggWCTuKn Curious about Intelligent Engineering? Great conversations today at Code Forward: Engineering in the Age of AI – hosted together with Marcus Hammarberg (SALT) and the sharp team at Umain. We explored: ✅ How AI already benefits our daily engineering work ✅ The real impact on coding, debugging, and collaboration ✅ What it takes to stay successful as a software engineer in this new era Key takeaway: AI won’t replace engineers – but engineers using AI will replace those who don’t. Adaptability, product sense, and smart tooling are the new superpowers. Thanks to Marcus and Umain for a thought‑provoking evening. Greetings from Vancouver! 🇨🇦 👋 One of the main takeaways from last week’s Web Summit Vancouver: using #vibecoding alone is not enough. AI can generate code and designs fast, but in the era of #agenticAI, speed means little if the product is fragile, expensive to scale, and unusable for real people. Teams handing critical thinking and foundational product development over to AI are already running into rising token costs, chaotic workflows, and systems nobody can maintain. #humanintheloop is what makes the real difference between scalable AI products and experimental prototypes. Zuzze combines over a decade of traditional software development & design expertise with proven AI workflows that create measurable leverage, not just adding AI for the sake of being “AI-powered.” #womenintech #websummitvancouver #websummit #techconference #humancentricdesign #ainative #designengineer #aisummit

Spent today studying AI-assisted software development with Tech Leads club 💎. One idea that stuck with me: building a good harness takes time. Not just tools or prompts, but a real setup around context, specs, workflows, validations, integrations, and feedback loops. It is an investment that may feel slow at the beginning, but tends to pay off in the long run. The process gets better, the context improves, and AI becomes more useful without turning the development flow into a black box. Another point that caught my attention is how the developer role is changing. More autonomy, more ownership, and much more connection with product decisions. If AI takes more of the execution layer, developers need to get better at understanding the problem, defining constraints, and making decisions that actually make sense for the product. Good engineering is becoming less about only writing code. And more about knowing what should be built, why it matters, and how to guide the process properly. Great first day learning from Rodrigo Branas, Felipe Adamoli, Waldemar Neto and Tech Leads club 💎 team. More to come tomorrow. #SoftwareEngineering #AIAssistedDevelopment #DeveloperWorkflow #AIEngineering #ProductThinking

"Vibe Coding" is the hottest buzzword in software right now, but it's creating a massive technical debt trap. 🪤 If you haven't heard the term (coined by OpenAI co-founder Andrej Karpathy), "vibe coding" is when developers use plain language prompts to let AI write the software—"giving in to the vibes" and ignoring the underlying code completely. The Reality: ⚡️ Yes, you can ship features at lightspeed. ⚠️ But you are likely introducing security vulnerabilities and unmaintainable spaghetti code into your production environment. AI is the most powerful development lever in history, but it is not a magic wand. You still need an orchestrator. At Imar Labs, we aggressively leverage AI to accelerate our builds, but we act as architects, not just prompt engineers. That’s exactly how we can take a founder's one-liner idea and turn it into a live, production-grade URL in just two weeks—without the tech debt. Stop vibe coding your enterprise software. Architect it. ⚡️ 👇 Are you letting your team "vibe code" yet, or are you keeping strict guardrails in place? Let's debate. #VibeCoding #SoftwareEngineering #TechTrends2026 #AgenticAI #ImarLabs #Founders

🤯 At Anthropic's recent Code with Claude event in London, a poll revealed a striking reality: nearly half the developers present had shipped a pull request *entirely written by Claude*. Even more surprising? Most admitted they *didn't even read the code*! This fascinating event, held the same day as Google I/O, underscored a rapidly accelerating trend: Anthropic’s Code with Claude showed off coding’s future—whether you like it or not. Companies like Anthropic are proudly stating most of their software is now AI-generated, with Claude even writing code for Claude Code itself. Their vision is ambitious: an AI that prompts itself, tests, fixes, and learns through advanced features like 'dreaming,' pushing automation to its absolute limits. As Boris Cherny, who heads Claude Code, put it, "The default isn't 'I'm going to prompt Claude'—the default is now 'I'm going to have Claude prompt itself.'" But is everyone ready for this future? While the conference buzzed with excitement and success stories from companies reshaping their dev teams around Claude, outside voices on platforms like Reddit and Hacker News are raising valid concerns. Developers worry about the massive review burden, declining human coding skills, and potential security risks from unverified AI-generated code. Anthropic acknowledges these concerns, with engineering lead Katelyn Lesse stating, "All of the old software development best practices still apply." Yet, the temptation to offload more and more to AI is undeniable, and even technical managers are feeling overwhelmed by the sheer volume of AI-produced code. The ultimate goal? For Claude to perform as well as a mid-level engineer now, eventually building itself. This poses a critical question for the tech industry: Are we adequately preparing for a future where AI handles the majority of coding, and what does 'oversight' truly look like then?
