Data markets today are dominated by US consumer datasets. These insights are fundamentally important, given that the US consumer is a key driver of the global economy and corporate profitability. This part of the market is mature, widely distributed, and increasingly competitive. But it's not necessarily where the next wave of data-driven value creation will come from. Demand is shifting toward B2B data: datasets that capture how businesses operate and interact with one another. ✔️ Supply chains. ✔️ Procurement activity. ✔️ Company-to-company relationships. These data types are harder to access but significantly more valuable because they reflect real economic activity, not just consumer activity. Consumer transactions have already been captured through apps, cell phones, e-commerce, and other means. What is often overlooked is that many companies are already generating this B2B data through their existing systems. The constraint is rarely the data itself. It is the recognition of its value in a manner that protects PII and commercial sensitivities. As the market evolves, the advantage is no longer in having more data.
