With bittersweet emotions, I wanted to share that after an incredible 7 years of building, I've decided to hang up my Shopify jersey. Having had 5 different roles, through various phases of our journey, I can safely say Shopify is a place that has changed me as a leader and human. I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to all the leaders I've had the privilege to work with. Mohammad H., Andre Lyver, Loren Padelford, Mark Bergen, each of you took a risk by asking me to build something amongst many others you could have chosen - thank you, I’m truly grateful. A special thank you to Kaz Nejatian. Your belief in me, encouragement to take risks, and expectations to deliver at a bar and pace I didn’t think possible has been transformative. Also, a big thank you to Bobby Morrison—not only for your leadership but for challenging me to build a best-in-class partner ecosystem. Together, we’ve delivered one of the strongest partner communities out there today. Along this incredible journey, the talent and ambition I’ve encountered here are what truly set Shopify apart. I’ve had the honour to work alongside and lead some of the most talented people in the industry....too many to name! Thank you for allowing me to learn from you and be a part of your journey. I look back at all of our accomplishments with immense pride. Entrepreneurship has always been a driving force for me in my personal life; it’s not just about building businesses but creating opportunities, fostering innovation, and making a lasting impact. As I embrace this next chapter, I carry with me a deeper commitment to nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit that I witnessed and nurtured at Shopify. I take with me some of the most valuable lessons one could ask for. I’ll cheer on as Shopify continues to win at making commerce better for everyone and better than anyone can possibly imagine!
