Time kills good recruitment. Don’t shoot the messenger folks. If I told you the amount of candidates we had to talk off the ledge of withdrawing from the process because it is taking too long, I think you would be shocked. So imagine how many candidates are just falling out of the process when you don’t have someone else keeping it all together (read: working with an external recruiter) Don’t post a job if you are not ready to act on it.

I have screened thousands of CVs, long before ATS came into play, and I still do. I look at the crooked formatting, the misalignments, and the not-so “ATS-friendly” layouts… and I don’t automatically dismiss them. Because sometimes the best candidates aren’t the most polished, they’re the ones with real experience, messy stories, and drive. AI can help, but it can’t replace a human eye that looks for potential, not perfection. Hiring is still about people.
