One chapter ends, another begins. As I prepare to lead Deloitte EMEA from 1 June, I’m delighted to be handing over the role of Deloitte UK CEO to Darren Graves. He’s a great leader and I’m confident in our UK firm’s future with him as CEO. It’s been a privilege to serve as UK CEO over the past seven years. I can’t believe how time flies when you’re having fun... Despite unprecedented levels of change, I’m immensely proud of everything that we’ve achieved together – thank you all. But I’m also hugely excited about the opportunities ahead for both Deloitte EMEA and the UK firm. Congratulations Darren and all the best for the new role – I speak from experience when I say it is a fabulous job in a fabulous firm !! #DeloitteUK #Leadership
Congrats Richard🥂Exciting times ahead!
A meaningful transition- leading through such a period of change and handing over with confidence speaks volumes.
Here’s wishing you all the very best in this new role and I’m sure that they’re super lucky to have you🎉
Congrats as strong leadership continuity always matters. But here’s the question: After 7 years and “unprecedented change,” how much actually changes with a new CEO at firms like Deloitte? Is this real transition… or just a well-managed handover of the same strategy with a different name?
How many individual bonsai trees was it? And do you need a new one to kick off EMEA?
Richard, love the energy. Seven years as UK CEO through “unprecedented change” is no small thing and you’re still having fun. That’s the real win. Congrats on the EMEA role and Darren’s in great hands.
Hi Richard. Congratulations on your new role. I can't believe it has been 7 years since you took on the UK role. How time flies. Wishing you well in your new role. It would be so lovely to see you and catch up.
Congratulations
Congratulations to both of you.
Richard, what a legacy to hand over. Seven years shaping a firm like Deloitte UK is no small feat, and the fact that you can point to a successor you genuinely believe in says a lot about how you led. The organisations I see navigate leadership transitions most smoothly are the ones where the outgoing leader invested as much in building the next generation as they did in delivering results. Sounds like that's exactly what happened here. Best of luck with the EMEA chapter.
