ERCOT has had some impressive results recently with Texas setting several energy milestones on the grid: • Solar peaked at 31.3 GW, about 10 GW higher than California’s record • Renewables supplied 83% of generation at one point • Battery discharge reached 8.6 GW • Storage covered roughly 16% of system load at peak The pattern tells the story. Solar dominated the middle of the day. Batteries charged during those hours, then flipped in the evening and pushed nearly 9 GW back onto the grid during the evening ramp. This is the Texas grid operating in real time. As battery storage continues to scale across ERCOT, the combination of solar and storage will play a bigger role in reliability and how energy moves across the grid. This reinforces why we believe in building around 100% renewable electricity for Texas customers. Texas is quickly becoming one of the most important markets to watch as solar and storage grow together.
