42% of healthcare candidates have not heard from a recruiter within 21 days of applying. Most competing offers are accepted within days. High-volume healthcare hiring does not fail because of too many applicants. It fails because the process was designed for ten roles and is being used for one hundred. Patient care roles take an average of 131 days to fill. Forty-four of those days are spent sourcing before active screening begins. That is not careful quality assessment. That is a sequential process design producing delays no one planned for. Organisations with high turnover in aged care, home care, and allied health support face a structural compounding problem. A team of 100 care workers at 30 percent annual turnover generates 30 replacement hires every year before any headcount growth. The volume pressure does not resolve when a backlog clears. It resets on a rolling basis. The healthcare organisations that fill roles fastest have made one consistent structural decision: they have separated the parts of the hiring process that require human judgment from the parts that do not. The administrative and logistical screening layer runs automatically. The recruiter's first contact is with a candidate who has already confirmed they meet the basic criteria. The quality risk in high-volume healthcare hiring is not moving too fast. It is moving fast on the wrong steps.
