Rebecca Williams’ Post

Fastest way to elevate your #brand? Hire a great #photographer. Recently, I had the pleasure of working with Rita Ansone to capture the essence of my business—and I’m so glad I did. We spent half a day exploring some of the most beautiful spots in #Lisbon (there’s certainly no shortage of them), and I walked away with a bold, expressive, and truly unique portfolio of images that finally feel like me. Over the years, I’ve done many photoshoots, but often the images didn’t quite capture my essence (with the wonderful exception of my 2023 shoot with Martha Zlatar). I couldn’t help but wonder: Why has it been so hard to express my true self through photos? And then it hit me—it wasn’t the photographer. It was ME. I had been holding back, trying to fit into a self-imposed rubric of what I thought “looking professional” meant. You know the look—arms crossed, that “I really know what I’m doing!” expression plastered on my face. Suffice it to say, that wasn’t helping my brand (or my confidence). But something has shifted. I’m finally allowing myself to show up as I am—quirks and all. And this freedom doesn’t just make me feel more comfortable; it makes me better at what I do. It’s not lost on me that helping others express themselves authentically is what I do for a living, yet it’s often the very thing I struggle with the most. Thank you, Rita, for creating the space for me to express myself in new and genuine ways.
