𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗳𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺. I’ve watched brilliant, strong leaders analyze every scenario for so long that they never get airborne. They don’t lack the skill to execute the mission. They’re just paralyzed by overthinking. 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱. It masquerades as strategic thinking when it’s actually fear. Fear of mistakes. Fear of judgment. Fear of failure. That fear keeps you stuck in a flat spin when your team needs you in forward flight. You can’t lead when you’re stuck in your head; you do it through action. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠. 𝘿𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙙𝙚. 𝙇𝙖𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙝. Because growth doesn’t come from endlessly chair flying scenarios--it comes from taking off and learning from what happens next. You’re cleared for takeoff. . . . #DecisionParalysis #Overthinking #StopOverthinking #FlatSpinOfFear #LeadershipGrowth #LeadershipDevelopment #ExcellenceUnscripted #KeynoteSpeaker #MotivationalSpeaker #NicoleMalachowski

In the acquisition community there is paralysis by analysis due to refining the "requirements". Sometimes we get stuck in refinement mode which leads to excessive procurement time with contractors chasing the government around. Too many time I have seen procurements take way too long because we cannot get the requirement right (unfortunately I am guilty of that as well...). I like your thought of get on with it.

Amazingly enough, this is true..a hard step..like going from private pilot to seasoned x country pilot. or, leaving corporate to run your own business. Requires flying.

Patton for the win 💪 If you can’t explain it to an elementary student it is too complicated.

Nicole Malachowski...Spot on. I've seen this in uniform and out. A Patton moment. "A incomplete plan executed violently is better than a perfect plan on the shelf.
