Regardless of the bird in flight, RDI’s got you covered with high-speed imaging and measurable displacement. This #MAMonday we look forward to AFI the Convention, and in the spirit of that we show how motion vectors reflect direction of motion of a helicopter - and its landing pad – filtered at mast speed. #RDITechnologies #MotionAmplification #PredictiveMaintenance #VibrationAnalysis #Reliability #IRISaiOne #IrisMA VFS Website: https://vtol.org/ RDI Website: https://lnkd.in/g_S9vGQ

OIM is strengthening its remote inspection capability with the ScoutDI Scout 137 Gen 3 equipped with integrated Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement capability. Designed for confined spaces and difficult-access industrial environments, the system combines remote visual inspection, onboard LiDAR-assisted navigation, and integrated UTM data capture in one advanced inspection platform. A key advantage is the tethered system, which provides continuous power, control and data connection, enabling unlimited flight time and more reliable inspection performance. This allows inspection teams to carry out safer, more efficient internal inspections while reducing unnecessary personnel exposure and improving inspection coverage, traceability and data quality. Unlimited flight time. Safer access. Smarter inspection data. #OIMServices #ScoutDI #Scout137 #UTM #UltrasonicTesting #NDT #DroneInspection #ConfinedSpaceInspection #TankInspection #AssetIntegrity #RemoteInspection #InspectionTechnology #IndustrialInspection

Radar performance starts at the signal level. Whether the application is airborne, shipboard or ground-based, engineers need clean references, low intermodulation, and reliable filtering across challenging environments. Mtron supports these demands with ultralow phase noise OCXOs, matched filters, high-frequency filtering and solutions designed for radar platforms where performance matters. See how Mtron supports advanced radar systems. #Radar #DefenseTechnology #RFEngineering #Mtron

The DoD released UAP footage this week. We ran it through MForja. Full HD 1080p FLIR thermal infrared. 18.0 MB down to 1.3 MB. VMAF 99.99. 93% smaller. No codec changes. No infrastructure work. Pure software. FLIR thermal is one of the hardest formats to compress efficiently -- high noise floor, monochromatic, long-range, high entropy by nature. The entropy shim doesn't negotiate with the noise. It reads the signal, identifies what's waste, and removes it before the codec ever touches the frame. The defense and aerospace industry stores and delivers enormous volumes of footage exactly like this. Surveillance feeds, ISR archives, UAV thermal imaging, body camera video -- all of it carrying the same entropy overhead on every file, every delivery, indefinitely. 93% smaller. Same quality. No stack changes. That's what Video Distillation looks like on classified-grade content. Source: https://lnkd.in/eRcpSz-r https://lnkd.in/eduSBJcR mforja.com

Why do modern fighter jets use stationary flat panels in their noses instead of rotating radar dishes, and how do they steer the beam to find targets? They utilize Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA). Instead of mechanically moving a heavy antenna, the flat panel contains thousands of tiny transmit and receive modules. Each module independently adjusts the phase of the emitted electromagnetic waves. Through constructive and destructive interference, the system shapes and steers the main beam electronically in mere microseconds. This eliminates mechanical failure points and allows the jet to track multiple targets simultaneously in different directions. Ref: Skolnik, M. I. (2008). Radar Handbook (3rd ed.). McGraw-Hill Education. Today's History: May 13, 1899: Arthur Korn successfully transmitted an image over telegraph wires. His work pioneered image transmission technology, paving the way for the telemetry systems that beam radar imagery back to Earth today. #RadarSchool #PhasedArray #Electromagnetics #Avionics #RadarSystems #TechHistory

How realistic does a hardware-in-the-loop UAS simulator need to be to actually improve operator training, currency, and mission readiness? Here’s an early look at the Avidron Echo in X-Plane 12.
Echo is taking shape inside X-Plane 12. This is an early look at the Avidron Echo model as we build toward a hardware-in-the-loop simulator designed to give operators realistic training, currency, and mission rehearsal before the aircraft ever leaves the ground. Better reps. Lower risk. More prepared operators. Powered by Embention USA

The Tech Lag: The technology to eliminate near-misses is already sitting in our cockpits—unused. Required Navigation Performance (RNP) and advanced Flight Management Systems (FMS) offer the precision needed for safe vertical and lateral separation. Yet, regulatory lag and knowledge gaps mean these tools remain "dormant assets." We have the technical cure; we just lack the implementation speed. Is it time to mandate the full use of RNP-capable FMS architectures for all commercial operations? #AviationTech #FlightManagement #NextGen #InnovationGap #AvTech
