Is AI redefining how we make strategic talent decisions? Artificial Intelligence is no longer just automating HR processes. It is increasingly influencing how organizations identify, select, and develop talent in a more strategic and skills-based way. As part of my Master’s research in the HR & Digital Transformation program at CNAM (Conservatoire national des arts et métiers), I am exploring how AI integration in HR relates to: – strategic recruitment and selection – skills-based talent matching and development – perceived fairness and organizational trust – overall strategic impact on talent management The survey is anonymous and takes approximately 5–7 minutes to complete. AI in HR is shifting from a futuristic concept to our daily reality. But beyond the buzzwords, what does this actually mean for us and our people? First, it is about freedom from the mundane. AI and predictive analytics are taking over repetitive administrative tasks (think scheduling and resume screening) which frees up HR professionals to move from being administrative taskmasters to strategic leaders. Some strategies suggest this could eventually boost HR productivity by up to 30%. Second, it is about smarter insights. Tools auch as Total Workforce Intelligence (TWI) are helping professionals spot retention risks and skill gaps before they become crises, allowing for more personalized employee support rather than one-size-fits-all solutions. However, we must tread carefully. The "black box" problem remains a major hurdle. New research on the TARAI Index highlights the critical need for contextual transparency. We need to know exactly how these tools work to trust them and ensure they are not just marketing fluff or "vaporware". Most importantly, we cannot lose the human touch. Implementing AI requires a psychological lens. Systems should be designed to support worker autonomy and wellbeing meeting their needs for competence and connection rather than just serving as tools for strict monitoring. The verdict?
