I’ve been looking into the most requested features for test automation tools in 2026. The direction is clearly that we’re moving away from "just scripting" toward autonomous, AI-augmented testing. There are lots of viewpoints but from what I have gathered the goal seems to be spending less time fixing broken locators (dealing with maintenance) and more time actually shipping quality code. Here are the top features currently dominating the conversation as best I can tell: 🤖 Self-Healing Engines: Tools that automatically update locators when the UI changes (the ultimate time-saver). 📉 Low-Code/No-Code: Empowering PMs and BAs to create tests without needing a CS degree. ⚡ Hyper-Parallelism: Running hundreds of tests in minutes, not hours, directly in the CI/CD pipeline. 👁️ Visual AI: Catching those "literally broken" UI bugs that traditional functional tests miss. 📊 Automated Root-Cause Analysis: No more digging through logs; the tool tells you exactly why it failed.
