Mariia Potupchik’s Post

After visiting Amazon Web Services (AWS) HQ for Anyscale meetup, I came across a jarring perspective on the current state of AI that reframes everything by Matt Shumer. The core message is simple: The gap between public perception and technical reality has become dangerous. If you’re still waiting for AI to "get good enough" to take seriously, you are operating on outdated information. While many are still judging AI based on the free version of ChatGPT from 2023, the industry has quietly shifted into a new gear. Here is the reality of what is happening right now, not five years from now: 🫣 The Coding Barrier is Gone New models like GPT-5.3 Codex and Claude Opus 4.6 aren't just writing snippets of code; they are building entire applications, iterating on user flow, testing their own work, and delivering finished products. 👯♀️ AI is Now Building AI This is the most critical development. OpenAI has documented that their latest models were instrumental in creating themselves. We have entered a feedback loop where smarter AI builds the next generation faster, leading to an "intelligence explosion". 👩🎓 The "Safe" Jobs Aren't Safe We used to think AI would take blue-collar jobs first. Instead, it is coming for high-level cognitive work. Legal analysis, financial modeling, medical diagnostics, and complex software engineering are already being offloaded to AI by those in the know. So, what should you do? 🚀 Stop using the free tier. Judging AI by the free models is like judging smartphones by using a flip phone. Access the best models available (like GPT-5.2 or Opus 4.6). 🚀  Move beyond "Search." Don't use AI to answer questions; use it to do work. Give it the messy spreadsheet, the complex contract, or the strategic plan. Force it into your actual workflow. 🚀  Commit to one hour a day. Experiment daily. If you do this for six months, you will understand the shift better than 99% of your peers. The window to be "early" on this is closing rapidly. The advantage belongs to those who adapt now, not those waiting for a formal invitation. Are you ready? 😉 #AI #FutureOfWork #Technology #WorkforceDevelopment
