Thanks to an investment from Germany's Sovereign Tech Agency, this modernization focuses on performance, async I/O, error handling, networking, and TLS security. Interesting direction. Async-capable streams can open the door to safer I/O handling and reduce blocking in high-traffic scenarios. Curious to see what kind of tooling and community adoption will grow around this over time.

Glad to see PHP is still relevant, while it has been declared dead many times in the past.
