Despite its clean appearance, the user interface lacks UX consideration. In addition to payments, the journey to other categories is now longer. The app has many categories, making it challenging to explore and navigate. Also, some users find it a little annoying that there is no dark mode.

Kudos to the team for a bold and thoughtful redesign! As a product person, I know how tricky it is to evolve a product that users rely on daily—sometimes even the placement of a single button can disrupt muscle memory. But with PhonePe 3.0, the shift feels intentional: from feature-focused to journey-driven. The modular design seems like a smart call to future-proof the app while keeping it flexible for personalization at scale. From a fintech lens, I’m also curious how you’re using alternate data or behavioral patterns to drive those experiences—especially as the next wave of users come online from Tier 2/3 cities. The challenge now is not just about access, but about making digital finance feel intuitive and trustworthy. Looking forward to seeing how this evolves—huge step forward for the ecosystem.
Overall, the new update seems to be a great effort, and some of the new features—like global search—have been introduced well. However, one key aspect is still missing: investment trends. There’s no section where I can view ongoing trends for items like stocks or mutual funds. It would be great if PhonePe Rahul Chari could include this in upcoming updates. Thanks for building great product and making our day to day lives easier.

1wThe app has become extremely slow and sluggish. Difficult to use. Launch time is very high (cold start). Scan QR widget is even more slow. UX change is so radical that it kills the entire muscle memory of regular customers.
