As part of the McKinsey Academy’s Management Accelerator program, we’ve started to dive into personal branding in our final module. One of our tasks today was to create a personal brand statement that captures the expertise we bring, who we aim to serve, the value we provide, and what makes us uniquely qualified. Honestly, this exercise felt challenging. It’s not easy to boil down who you are, what you do, and why it matters into a few lines, all while making it feel authentic. It pushed me to reflect on my professional journey, the skills I’ve worked hard to hone, and the experiences that have shaped me. It was also very challenging to leave out my other (and most important) roles: mom, wife, daughter, sister, friend. After some trial and error (and a lot of feedback!), here’s what I landed on: "I’m a marketing professional with experience across industries and in both B2C and B2B. Known for creating and executing effective strategies, I excel at keeping projects organized and on track from planning to launch, delivering great results. With multicultural experience and bilingual skills, I bring fresh perspectives and strong communication to every project I undertake." What I hope this communicates is that I’m not just about getting the job done, but I’m about doing it with purpose, clarity, and a respect for the diverse perspectives that make every challenge unique. This exercise reminded me how important it is to take a step back and ask: What value do I really bring to the table? It’s something I’d encourage everyone to do, whether you’re actively working on your brand or just reflecting on your career. I’d love to hear your thoughts: Have you ever worked on a personal brand statement? How was that challenging? If you personally know me and/or we’ve worked together, do you feel this is accurate? Is there anything you’d change or add? Personal pic, because of every project I’ve ever built or worked on, building a little family is by far the one I’m most proud of (and the one that without any doubt requires my time management superpower the most!). Also, in all honesty, moms know this very well: after having kids, there’s no pictures of ourselves without our babies 🤭

I love your statement but I don't think it begins to capture the value you bring--frankly, not sure words can!
