I was review a scaling company’s reporting layer. Within 30 minutes, the real issue wasn’t dashboards. It was how revenue was being logged. The team had: Multiple dashboards. Weekly reconciliations. Manual metric adjustments. Constant Slack threads clarifying numbers. Everyone thought reporting was slow. Reporting wasn’t slow. The data foundation was inconsistent. Revenue entered the system differently depending on: Who logged it. Where it came from. What plan it belonged to. So instead of building another dashboard, I redesigned ingestion.
