Drowning in PDFs? In this short demo I show how Paperless-NGX turns chaos into a searchable library: type a keyword (e.g., “long short-term memory”), use quotes for exact phrases (“time series”), filter with tags, preview instantly, save searches, and jump straight to terms (HAR) — no more endless scrolling. If it helps, share it with a colleague buried in PDFs! #PaperlessNGX #ResearchWorkflow #KnowledgeManagement #Productivity #PhDLife

Super excited to finally share something that Ayooluwa Isaiah and I have been working on for a while - our new book: OpenTelemetry for Dummies (a Dash0 Special Edition)! 🚀 Modern cloud-native systems generate mountains of telemetry - logs, metrics, and traces - often more confusing than helpful. Finding root causes and gaining real insights shouldn’t feel like detective work. That’s where this book comes in. It’s a practical guide to bringing order and clarity to observability using OpenTelemetry. Can’t wait to see it in print - we’ll even have physical copies at #KubeCon + #CloudNativeCon North America! 🇺🇸 Get your copy here: https://lnkd.in/d-9rkFyf #OpenTelemetry #Observability #CloudNative #PlatformEngineering

A new approach involves utilizing a hybrid index, commonly implemented in enterprises. This hybrid index combines vector-type dense and sparse embeddings. Currently, it's the sole method supporting dense and sparse searches on a single index. By specifying this parameter during creation, a hybrid index is generated incorporating both dense and sparse aspects. This allows for the simultaneous insertion of dense embeddings, sparse embeddings, and metadata. Moreover, the querying process involves combining sparse and dense embeddings into a single query, specifying the top 'k' results, and initiating a combined search. #HybridIndex #DenseEmbedding #SparseEmbedding #SearchIndex

The Google Drive Graveyard Ever gone searching for that one SOP you know exists somewhere… only to find five versions, all slightly different, in random folders? Most businesses don’t have a documentation problem, they have a library problem. You’ve got valuable info scattered across docs, drives, and folders with names like “FINAL_FINAL_v3.” The fix? Build a library system, not just a pile of documents. Even a simple spreadsheet catalog with titles, links, and keywords beats chaos every time. Make your processes findable, not just documented.

𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐭: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐗 3 𝐄𝐫𝐚 𝐈𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 As Claire Holloway, chair of BISG’s Metadata Committee, explains — the transition to ONIX 3 is no longer optional. It’s essential. The message is clear: it’s time to move forward, together. Let’s embrace the full potential of ONIX 3.
