The Hardest Part of Growth: Unlearning What Worked Before The next version of you can’t run on last year’s habits. People talk about learning a new skill, new playbooks, new tools. But no one tells you that growth starts with unlearning. The hardest part isn’t picking up what’s new. It’s letting go of what used to work. Because the tactics that once made you win might be the very ones slowing you down now.The scripts that helped you close deals last year may not even get you a reply today. In sales, in leadership, in life, the real evolution happens when you stop defending your old ways and start questioning them. Unlearning feels uncomfortable because it looks like erasing progress. It’s not Erasing!! It’s upgrading. So the next time something stops working, don’t double down on old habits. Zoom out. Relearn. Rewire. That’s where real growth begins. #GrowthMindset #SalesLife #Leadership #Unlearning #ProfessionalGrowth #SalesEnablement #ContinuousImprovement

Moving toward a science of reading-aligned program is a great start, but it often isn’t enough. At Success for All, we’ve built a model using research and evidence that aligns every element of a school’s educational system. That includes a science of reading–based curriculum with high-quality materials (including built-in tutoring) and a science of learning–aligned instructional process. This core literacy curriculum, together with our leadership system and social-emotional learning program (focused on problem solving, critical thinking, relationship-building, and goal-setting), provides everything teachers need to reach every child and help them become a confident, happy reader. Assess where you are in building an aligned system of literacy, leadership, and SEL with our free e-book. 🔗https://lnkd.in/eqVqsJHG

I recently read an insightful article from Learning Forward titled “Professional Learning vs. PD: The Distinction Matters.” (learningforward.org) There were three shifts that stood out and that I align with what I help leaders act on: 1. Mindset over moment. Traditional PD often shows up as a one-hour workshop or a guest speaker. The article describes this “PD mindset” as a series of sporadic, one-time events that are not part of a larger plan or vision. In contrast, Professional Learning is ongoing, job-embedded, responsive to real needs, and aligned with school or district goals. 2. From “What’s next?” to “What’s changed?” Professional Learning focuses on impact. It asks: How is what we’re doing shifting teacher practice? How is it improving student outcomes? Programs aligned with the Standards for Professional Learning show stronger connections between teacher growth and student achievement. 3. Leaders as architects, not just sponsors. The shift requires leaders to build a shared vision, engage in their own learning, examine past experiences, and create aligned systems. Leaders at every level must experience the standards, not just understand them. 💡 If you’re working with educators to redesign systems for learning, here are a few quick questions to reflect on: - Does your current approach ask educators to passively receive or to actively design and implement? - When was the last time you asked what changed in practice after the last PL session? - As a leader, how are you participating in this shift, not just approving it? If your role involves shaping professional learning in your district or school system, I’d be happy to connect and share what I’ve seen work well and what common barriers to avoid. Here’s a truth from Harvard Business Review: “People who spend 15 minutes reflecting at the end of the day perform 23% better after 10 days than those who don’t.” That’s the power of reflective learning. In training, we often celebrate doing. But reflection is where meaning — and mastery — emerge. Try this in your next session: End with three prompts: 1. What did I learn today? 2. How will I apply it tomorrow? 3. What might get in my way? Reflection turns experience into expertise. It’s not the hours of training that matter — it’s what learners take time to understand afterward. #ReflectiveLearning #TrainerMindset #LeadershipGrowth #AdultLearning #TheTrainersPlaybook

Your clients don’t want more education content. You keep dropping banger valuable content, thinking it will get you clients. But it’s not working WHY? People don’t buy from teachers, They buy from leaders. Your future clients don’t want more “How To”. They want belief shifts and your personal insights. They want to see your way of doing things. They want to hear your personal stories and proof- ‘How I…’ They want to trust someone with their problems. The best content does not teach. It transforms.

An original, innovative, and compelling perspective on teaching executive education is presented in the new book, “Teaching Executive Education” by Konstantin Korotov and Evgeny Kaganer. The interdependent and reciprocal learning process of executive educators and executives is of special interest and value. “The willingness to learn while teaching is what keeps executive education vibrant, human, and profoundly relevant” #executiveeducation #exed #teachingexecutiveeducation #BIexecutiveeducation
As an executive educator, I am often get questions from leaders about how they can start thinking about turning their expertise and reflections into shareable formats accessible to others. A recent ESMT Berlin piece highlights a few points related to such requests from a recent book by Evgeny Kaganer and yours truly (Korotov, K. & Kaganer, E. (2005). Teaching Executive Education, Edward Elgar). #esmtberlin

Books have the power to shape how we think, act, and grow — and 'The Diary of a CEO' truly did that for me. Each chapter offered lessons that connect deeply with real-life challenges and personal growth. Sharing my video review where I’ve summarized the key takeaways that inspired me the most. A special thanks to Dr. Shilpa Wadhwa - An Educator, Learner, Researcher, Mentor. for guiding us to express our learning beyond the classroom and motivating us to develop our communication and presentation skills. #BookReview #LearningJourney #GrowthMindset #CommunicationSkills @
