Today is World Down Syndrome Day. 3/21, for Trisomy 21. ❤️ And today, like every day, I’m thinking about my son Max. People ask me what drives my passion for inclusion. They point to the TEDx stage, the research, the corporate work. And yes — all of that matters. But the real answer has a name. Max has taught me things no Fortune 500 engagement, no keynote, no certification ever could. He’s taught me that the world gets bigger when we stop deciding in advance what someone is capable of. That joy is not a byproduct of achievement — it’s a birthright. That inclusion isn’t a value-add. It’s the whole point. Down syndrome is part of who Max is. It is not the ceiling of who Max is. I’ve spent my career arguing that the biggest driver of innovation isn’t AI — it’s inclusion. I believe that with everything in me. And I believe it because of Max. On this day, I’m not just raising awareness. I’m raising gratitude — for a kid who shows up fully, loves fiercely, and reminds me daily what we’re actually building toward. We can be on this earth doing many things, if giving back to the most vulnerable population isn't part of our life's goals and serving others who need it the most isn't on our bucket list, then we are not truly living a purposeful life!
