Three updates to App Platform Stands If you're using stands for staging or testing—here's what's new. Stand statuses are now visible in the overview and inside each stand. No more guesswork. Backend stands now have a console—matching the tooling available in the main app. Debug directly on the stand using the same tools you use in production. REST API integration looks simple until your app starts crashing in production. Here are 3 things I always do before shipping: 1. Set a timeout — Never let a network call hang forever. Set connect timeout (10s) and read timeout (30s). Users will close the app before they wait longer. 2. Handle all error states — 200 is not the only response. Handle 400, 401, 403, 404, 500. Each needs a different user message. 3. Implement token refresh — If your app uses JWT tokens, build silent token refresh BEFORE your MVP. Retrofitting it later is painful. Bonus: Always log API errors in development. Production surprises come from development blind spots. Most Flutter beginners overuse setState() and wonder why their app becomes impossible to maintain. Here is the actual rule: setState() — only when the change affects that one widget and nothing else. Provider — when multiple widgets need the same data. BLoC — when your logic is complex, testable, and needs to scale. Using setState() everywhere is not wrong at the start. But the moment your app grows, you will feel the pain. I learned this the hard way while building a multi-role healthcare app. The moment I moved to proper state management, the codebase became 10x easier to work with. Pick the right tool for the right job. State management means controlling and updating the data/state of your app, such as user login, API data, theme mode, cart items, form values, or screen changes. In Flutter, choosing the right state management tool depends on your app size and complexity. Provider Best for simple or medium apps where you need quick development and easy state sharing. BLoC Best for large apps with complex business logic, strong structure, and better testability. Riverpod Best for modern production apps that need flexibility, cleaner dependency management, and scalability. My simple rule: Use Provider for simplicity. Use BLoC for structure. Most apps make choosing a movie harder than it should be. So I built a small one that does the opposite. MoviePicker helps you decide what to watch in seconds instead of endlessly scrolling. The idea was simple: reduce friction to the minimum. swipe  -> match  -> watch  Built the iOS app in SwiftUI, focusing on speed and simplicity. The backend was built with AI assistance by Artyom Fedyakov — a good example of how small products can now be built faster. I focused on the iOS client and user experience.
