Along with RNs 1SL's Gen Gwyn Jenkins, Germany's announcement we now have Sweden's call for autonomous platform development. The maritime domain is probably at its most interesting for many years. The potential of paradigm shifts in thinking and reimaging maritime missions with new fast developing technologies is opening up the opportunity space.
Sweden is looking for a ship to enable and support development of and experimentation with maritime uncrewed systems. Such a ship would help change and accelerate not only Sweden’s process for acquiring capability but the Royal Swedish Navy’s (RSwN’s) ability to deliver operational effect, Rear Admiral Fredrik Lindén – Director Naval Systems at FMV - Försvarets materielverk told Naval News.
