🎤 ⭕️ 🎤 T-minus 2 weeks until TEDxWorthington Women - a glimpse into how it’s going a week after the coaching session that had me back at the drawing board!
3 -, 2 weeks until the TEDx talk and here's how I know it got serious when I put all of my ideas. On. The mirror in my gym to which my husband said, are You Beautiful minding your TEDx talk in our home gym? I said that's exactly what I'm doing and here's why. Because last week, 3 weeks out from the talk, I presented it to my coach and the very kind and thoughtful feedback was we can do better. And now this is a dream for me 10 years in the making. And after hearing no no no for about 5 years in a row, I, I stopped. Crying. And so when this opportunity came about this year, I knew I had to try again. And I think the trying again had me come up with a completely different idea than when I submitted way back then. What's really interesting is that over the past week. I've actually gotten closer to that last night. Last idea that I have submitted the the core is still the same. My talk is called Thought Blooms. The central idea hasn't shifted, but how I'm getting there is. And like most things, I did try to block out time to rewrite the TEDx last week and that never works for me. But I know what does work is moving my body and taking a nice shower. And that's exactly what happened. I ran A15K on Sunday. Had a wonderful big meal to celebrate, Came home and after my shower, boom, the idea hit and I took to the audio recorder on my phone and just blurted it out. And that was the new framing that I needed. So it's now on the wall here so I can memorialize it and start to really lock it in because I have one more coaching session to go. And from there it's just put it in the body, put it in the body. And in some ways it's been easier to put it in the body this last week because I think I've been carrying it around for these 10 years. And in two weeks, it gets to see the light of day. I can't wait to see some of you live and in person there. For the rest of you, you better believe I'll be sharing the video far and wide when it's made available. Until then, I hope You Beautiful mind, whatever you need to beautiful mind, and you get ready for those burst of inspirations when they hit.
The drawing board moment two weeks out from a big stage is where some of the best talks actually get made. There's something about that kind of pressure that strips away the version you thought you were going to give and surfaces what you actually want to say. The fact that you went back rather than pushed through says a lot. Can't wait to see what emerges from this.
Love seeing this behind-the-scenes process, Natalie! And, interesting that you basically came full circle to your original message but are taking a different approach to get there. Certainly a message that's lived in your heart for a while! 🌟
Natalie Siston I love the mind body connection aspect. Thanks for taking us inside your beautiful mind! Wishing you all the best on your TEDxWorthington Women!
