Government 'won't leave generation of young people behind' - Reeves. Back in the Commons, Reeves turns to youth employment. The number of young people not in education, training or employment "increased by 113,000" over the last five years, she says. The number of "inactive people reached record highs" under the Tories, she adds, pledging that "this government will not leave an entire generation of young people behind". She says the government is "already taking action", reforming apprenticeships and through its youth guarantee - with more plans to be set out "in the coming weeks". #SpringStatement

It's still #CTEMonth! ✨ CTE is a broad term for education that combines academic and technical skills with the knowledge and training needed to succeed in today’s labor market. At ASPIN, our Community Health Worker (CHW) program reflects that model — blending structured online instruction with dedicated instructor support, mock skill development, and opportunities for field placements and Registered Apprenticeships aligned with in demand Healthcare & Human Services careers. As we expand this pathway, we’re working with employer partners to assess capacity for enhanced Work-Based Learning and are proud to partner with Greater Lafayette Career Academy and Blue River Career Center to pilot CHW CTE programs beginning Fall 2026. We are actively seeking opportunities to collaborate with orgs, schools, employers, and community partners interested in exploring what CHW CTE pathways could look like for the learners you serve. Let’s work together to create career-connected learning that leads to real opportunity. #CTEMonth #IndianaCTE #CHW #WorkBasedLearning #CareerPathways #WorkforceDevelopment

An exciting new initiative led by six Mass. community colleges and employer partners is addressing urgent workforce challenges. The colleges are launching apprenticeship degree programs that take a long-proven workforce development approach, common in careers such as plumbing and electrical trades, and apply it to new occupations where there is significant need for talent with post-secondary credentials. With this model, students earn both wages and credit while in the program. These programs open doors to high-demand careers for students who may need to work while they learn, while providing employers with a reliable, local pipeline of skilled talent. The initiative is supported by over $6 million in grants from the Richard and Susan Smith Family Foundation and Accelerate the Future. National child care shortages demand innovative solutions – and early childhood educator apprenticeships are proving to be exactly that. A recent piece by The Hechinger Report highlights how apprenticeship models are helping to transform the early childhood field. By aligning paid work, mentorship and formal training, these programs help address staffing shortages while expanding access to quality early learning. The impact goes beyond the classroom. When families can reliably access child care, parents are able to participate in the workforce, businesses experience greater stability, and local economies benefit. Stories like these remind us that investing in early childhood educators is investing in both our economy and our children’s futures. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gFEU7z8U
