Shorter timelines this year for NASA SBIR/STTR Phase I submissions—May 21 is approaching quickly. A good reminder that strong proposals are rarely built at the last minute. For teams looking for an extra set of eyes, TIV serves as a TABA provider and supports proposal review. https://lnkd.in/dZF3MgEy
The NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration SBIR/STTR FY26–27 Broad Agency Announcement is open, with Phase I proposals due May 21, 2026 (5:00 PM ET). This year’s submission window is shorter than in prior cycles. The SBIR/STTR program remains a key mechanism for small businesses and research teams developing early-stage technologies aligned with aerospace and related mission areas. As in previous years, proposers must assess alignment with subtopic objectives independently, as agencies do not provide feedback on technical merit during the solicitation period. A few practical points: technical questions must be submitted in advance, with responses posted on a rolling basis. Familiarity with NASA’s ProSAMS system and administrative requirements can help avoid delays late in the process. Across recent cycles, competitive proposals tend to reflect clear technical framing, concise narratives, and a direct connection to mission needs. https://lnkd.in/gP5cii-h #SBIR #STTR #NASA #InnovationFunding #SmallBusinessInnovation #DeepTech #AerospaceInnovation #ResearchAndDevelopment #TechCommercialization #FederalFunding #StartupEcosystem #DefenseAndSpace

The XACT attitude control system remains one of my favorite spacecraft components. The level of functionality packed into such a small form factor is incredibly impressive. It’s one of those pieces of hardware that really makes you stop and appreciate the engineering behind modern spacecraft systems. The TWTA takes second. What's your favorite spacecraft component, subsystem, or payload?
Ten years ago, the MinXSS 3U CubeSat deployed from the ISS to advance solar science. Funded by NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration and led by Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics, it was the first mission to feature our XACT attitude control system. Nearly 4,000 component launches later, we celebrate a decade of smallsat impact and innovation! #smallsats #spacetechnology #aerospace #spacedomain #components #attitudecontrol

This is a powerful example of how open innovation can accelerate meaningful real-world impact. Some of the most transformative technologies emerge when advanced infrastructures originally designed for highly specialized environments evolve into accessible applications capable of improving everyday human experiences. At Sensory Technology, we deeply relate to this vision. We are exploring how sensory-based architectures and digital scent systems can move from conceptual innovation into scalable applications for media, communication, and immersive environments. Programs like Patent Remix are essential because they create bridges between invention, commercialization, and human-centered impact. Congratulations to everyone involved in this inspiring initiative.
