AI and this generation of kids? Whats going to go wrong / or right? I've been considering the impact of AI on the next generation. How will educators adapt their teaching methods? Will the curriculum evolve to incorporate these new technologies, or will they struggle to keep pace? The questions arise: will children become smarter, leveraging AI as a powerful learning tool, or will they become overly reliant, hindering critical thinking skills? We are, in essence, conducting a grand experiment with this generation as our "guinea pigs." Only time will truly tell the full extent of AI's influence on our children's development and learning. It's a rapidly unfolding narrative that demands our attention and thoughtful consideration. What are your thoughts on AI's role in education for the future? #AI #Education #FutureOfLearning #GenAlpha #TechnologyInEducation

AI and the Future of Learning: Raising the Cognitive Bar Education stands at a turning point. Generative AI is no longer a novelty, it’s now embedded in the habits, expectations, and daily practices of students and teachers alike. Yet Tom Chatfield’s new white paper, AI and the Future of Pedagogy (SAGE, 2025), reminds us that the real challenge is not how to control AI, but how to use it wisely and humanely. Learning, he argues, cannot be automated. It can only be amplified. The goal is not to replace human judgment but to raise the cognitive bar, to cultivate thinkers who can reason, reflect, and adapt in partnership with machines. Some key takeaways that should reshape how we design and deliver education: • Reimagine Assessment: Move beyond surveillance and standardization. Let reflection, transparency, and dialogue define how students demonstrate mastery. • Empower Educators: Teachers must become designers and interpreters of AI systems, not their overseers. True innovation begins with informed experimentation. • Celebrate Human Skills: Critical thinking, empathy, ethical judgment, and metacognition are the new literacies of an AI age. • Use AI to Elevate, Not Erase: The value of technology lies in helping learners think more deeply, not in thinking for them. Chatfield captures it best: “The ultimate measure of success in an #AI age remains wholly human.” If we get this right, AI will not hollow out education, it will become the catalyst for a new era of intellectual collaboration. #AIinEducation #Pedagogy #HigherEducation #CriticalThinking #EthicalAI #LearningInnovation #TomChatfield

AI - Empowering Young Minds for the Future! In today’s world, schools are showing great enthusiasm in developing AI learning opportunities for their students. When I approach schools as part of my journey, I’ve noticed a powerful shift.. Many schools and educators are eager to upgrade themselves and their students for the future. Often, when we say Artificial Intelligence, people think it’s something that reduces human work. But it’s much more than that! At SNS Institutions, we focus on teaching students how to use AI responsibly, explore proper tools, and implement AI in real-life scenarios. Our goal is not just to teach what AI is, but to build creators, innovators, and problem solvers of tomorrow. What amazes me the most? School students today are quick learners, curious, and eager to explore! With the right guidance and exposure, they can do wonders with AI. Let’s create a future where our young minds don’t just use technology they lead it. #agentiAI #AI #AIinSchools #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinking #snsdesignthinkers

A fantastic resource, Mark — thank you for making the Mollicks’ “Assigning AI” framework even more accessible. Your STAIR model adds real clarity for educators navigating the practical side of AI integration — especially in virtual STEM learning, where defining the role of AI (tutor, coach, simulator, or tool) helps students develop both confidence and discernment. This kind of structured, ethical approach is exactly what schools need to move beyond experimentation and towards purposeful, evidence-informed AI pedagogy. #AIinEducation #DigitalPedagogy #VirtualSTEM #EdTech #TeachingandLearning

Sharing a resource I created to share with the schools I work with... I’ve long admired the work of Ethan and Lilach Mollick, particularly their paper “Assigning AI: Seven Approaches for Students, with Prompts.” It’s a smart, accessible framework that helps students see how AI can play a meaningful role in their learning. The paper highlights seven different ways students might use AI; as a tutor, mentor, coach, teammate, student, simulator, or tool, along with prompts and risks to consider. To make this even easier to share with colleagues and students, I created a summary resource that draws on the Mollicks’ approaches and frames them through my STAIR model (Specific, Tell, Actionable, Iterative, Role-based). The goal is not to replace their work, but to make these ideas more accessible and to encourage thoughtful, safe, and effective use of AI in education. You can download the resource below from the carousel. I’d encourage you to read the original paper too; it’s highly insightful and will get you thinking about the opportunities and challenges of using AI with students. There's a vanity link to access the original paper in the comments. #AI #Education #Teaching #Learning #EdTech

🌟 A Thoughtful Take on AI in Education 🎓🤖 This is one of the best-balanced analyses recently on AI’s role in learning. Tom Chatfield presents a nuanced argument: generative AI should raise the cognitive bar, not automate learning, and educators should design for discernment, not detection. 💡 The piece draws on cognitive science, instructional research, and practical case studies — including the “cognitive co-pilot” prototype developed with Timo Hannay and Sage — making it both evidence-based and forward-looking. 📚✨ For anyone in education or higher education, this is one of the most thoughtful roadmaps yet. It challenges defensive, surveillance-based responses to AI and advocates for a human-centred learning model that develops judgment, creativity, and collaboration, not dependency — all aligned with SuperSkills. 🌱🤝 🔑 Key Takeaways 1️⃣ Learning can’t be automated — it must be amplified 📈 2️⃣ Assessment should evolve from surveillance to conversation 🗣️ (love this framing!) 3️⃣ Educators as designers and facilitators of intelligent learning environments 🏫💡 4️⃣ AI should raise the cognitive bar, not lower it 🎯 One of the clearest and most constructive visions seen for the future of education in an AI age. 🚀 #AIinEducation #GenerativeAI #LearningInnovation #HumanCentredLearning #EdTech #FutureOfLearning #CognitiveScience #SuperSkills #EducationTransformation

Learning requires effort and AI educational tools must strengthen cognition, not bypass it. Mental effort is a critical feature of the learning process. For AI to be the best partner in education, it cannot remove the struggle from learning; it should make productive struggle achievable for all. Sadly, shortcuts feel good but don’t build knowledge. AI in education is a hot topic, but are we asking the right questions? In my experience, the integration of AI in classrooms is transforming the way we approach learning. But here's the catch: while AI offers efficiency, it also raises concerns about equity and human connection. Imagine a classroom where AI tools streamline tasks, yet students feel less connected to their teachers. This is a reality many educators face today. To balance AI's benefits with human-centric education, consider these steps: 1. Prioritize human interaction alongside AI tools. 2. Ensure AI systems address, not amplify, existing disparities. 3. Equip educators with AI literacy to guide students effectively. How do you see AI impacting the future of education? #Education #AI #Equity

Teaching in the Age of Generative AI We are teaching in a remarkable time; one where knowledge is no longer limited by access, but by guidance. Generative AI has changed the landscape of learning. It can summarize, explain, create, and even critique, often in seconds. For educators, that can feel both exciting and unsettling. But the truth is that AI will not replace teachers, rather teachers who use AI will redefine education. Instead of rejecting AI out of fear, we have the opportunity to mentor our students in using it wisely; teaching them how to question, interpret, and refine what these tools produce. The classroom is no longer just about “finding answers,” but about evaluating truth, ethics, and originality in an AI-powered world. Our role has shifted from being gatekeepers of information to becoming guides of discernment. We are now AI mentors, helping students understand not just what AI can do, but what it should do. Generative AI has made teaching and learning easier in many ways, but it also calls us higher to model curiosity, critical thinking, and integrity in the digital age. Let us not fight the future; let us shape it. #WGLI #WeGuide #AIinEducation #Teaching #GenerativeAI #EducationinAfrica #HigherEducation #InnovationInLearning #DigitalLiteracy

😓 “Some students admit AI makes things ‘too easy and they worry it’s hurting their skills.” A recent Oxford University Press study revealed something striking: while 80% of students regularly use AI, 62% feel it’s eroding their ability to think independently. One student said, “AI makes some assignments too easy. I’m not sure if I’m still learning.” It’s a powerful reminder that GenAI isn’t just a tool; it’s a teaching challenge. At Genue, we believe the answer lies in visibility and guidance. Educators shouldn’t guess how AI shapes learning; they should see it happen. With Genue, teachers can: ✅ View how students engage with AI prompts ✅ Track creativity and reasoning ✅ Intervene when shortcuts replace thinking Because the real goal isn’t to ban AI — it’s to help students use it to think better, not less. 👉 How do you design your lessons so AI deepens — not replaces — learning? #AIinEducation #TeachingWithAI #GenAI #EdTech #StudentVoice #Genue

Happy Sunday vibes! ☀️ Yes, #AI can score and mark students’ work. But can it truly consider everything a teacher holds in mind when crafting a personalized intervention plan? Can it sense the nuances of a student’s needs, energy, and context? This weekend, thanks to my friend Robyn Anderson, I discovered a new dimension of scoring — the social one. The relationship between a teacher and a student has many layers… and one of them is how both sides learn from each other. How teachers learn to support students — and how students show what works best for them, helping teachers teach. ⚡ Human + AI Collaboration ✅ Some things AI can score. 🌟 But only teachers can see the whole child. ⚡ Teaching Vibes 🌟 Teachers read more than answers. 💙 They read students. ⚡ Machine Learning ✅ Observations and co-development with teachers are essential to meaningful AI. #EdTech #AIinEducation #Teaching #Learning #Assessment #TeacherLife #HumanInTheLoop #eKidz
