Sharing a resource I created to share with the schools I work with... I’ve long admired the work of Ethan and Lilach Mollick, particularly their paper “Assigning AI: Seven Approaches for Students, with Prompts.” It’s a smart, accessible framework that helps students see how AI can play a meaningful role in their learning. The paper highlights seven different ways students might use AI; as a tutor, mentor, coach, teammate, student, simulator, or tool, along with prompts and risks to consider. To make this even easier to share with colleagues and students, I created a summary resource that draws on the Mollicks’ approaches and frames them through my STAIR model (Specific, Tell, Actionable, Iterative, Role-based).
