🚀 Headless Drupal: Powering the Next Generation of Developer Portals Traditional portals often struggle to keep up with modern API ecosystems — they can be slow, rigid, and hard to scale. That’s why many organizations are now moving towards Headless Drupal Developer Portals. Here’s why this approach is transforming the developer experience: 1️⃣ Modern Frontend Experiences – Use React, Vue, or Angular to deliver fast, responsive UIs while Drupal powers the backend. 2️⃣ Seamless API Integration – A headless architecture makes it easier to expose APIs, customize onboarding, and provide real-time documentation. 3️⃣ Scalability & Flexibility – Decoupling front and back ends allows you to scale each independently. 4️⃣ Better Developer Experience – Interactive consoles, personalized dashboards, and smoother flows for registration, subscription, and testing. 💡 Headless isn’t just a trend — it’s a strategic move to make Developer Portals future-ready. #Drupal #HeadlessDrupal #DeveloperPortal #APIs #DX #DigitalTransformation #Apigee #FrontendDevelopment

Excited to work with the UI Patterns 2 module using Single Directory Components (SDC) in Drupal 🚀 Are you tired of hunting for scattered files when working on Drupal components? Say goodbye to that chaos! 🙌 ✨ What is SDC? Imagine packing everything a Drupal component needs -- Template (Twig), Styles (CSS), Scripts (JS), and Configs (YML) -- all neatly organized in one folder. That’s Single Directory Components for you, It makes development super clean, modular, and reusable. 🎨 Enter UI Patterns 2 Now, with UI Patterns 2, you don’t just build components; you create flexible, reusable layouts that make site building a breeze. Stack your components effortlessly, mix and match, and watch your design with consistency. 💡 Best part? No Storybook needed! You can preview SDC components right inside Drupal’s UI Patterns interface, giving you instant feedback without extra setup. Faster, smoother, and more fun development experience Imagine this: ✔️ All Component files in one place ✔️ Build once, reuse everywhere ✔️ Easy previews in UI Patterns ✔️ Easy and Faster collaboration between devs & site builders #Drupal #SDC #UIPatterns #WebDevelopment #ComponentDriven #OpenSource

Drupal’s Hidden Superpower: The Custom Entity System When we talk about Drupal’s flexibility, one word defines it all — Entities. From content and users to products and media — everything in Drupal is an entity. But the real magic happens when you build your own custom entities. What makes Custom Entities so powerful? Structure anything — Create data models that perfectly fit your business logic. API-Ready — Instantly integrate with REST, JSON:API, or GraphQL — no extra setup needed. Reusable & Scalable — Use the same entity type across multiple sites or applications. Integrates with Core Systems — Fields, Views, Permissions, Workflows — all just work! Clean, maintainable architecture — Ideal for enterprise-grade or headless solutions. Whether you’re managing: • Custom product catalogs • Event registration systems • Complex data-driven apps In short: Custom Entities = Custom Power. They’re not just data — they’re the building blocks of enterprise-grade digital experiences. #Drupal #CustomEntity #WebDevelopment #OpenSource #Developers #DigitalTransformation

🎨 Drupal Canvas — Bringing the “No-Code” Experience to Drupal 🚀 I’ve been exploring Drupal Canvas — an impressive new project that reimagines how we build Drupal sites. Presented recently at DrupalCon Vienna, Canvas enables users to design and build entire websites directly from the browser, without needing deep Drupal knowledge. But what really caught my attention 👇 Canvas integrates a React-compatible layer (via Preact) — allowing developers to create dynamic code components that fetch data using JSON:API. That means we can now mix the best of both worlds: 💧 Drupal’s strong content architecture ⚛️ React-style components and dynamic behavior 🧩 A visual builder that empowers both developers and content teams This is a huge step toward bridging Drupal’s flexibility with modern front-end innovation. It’s still in beta, but already shows where the Drupal ecosystem is heading — visual, component-driven, and open to modern JavaScript workflows. Have you tested Canvas yet? Would love to hear your first impressions 👇 💭 In my next post, I’ll explore an exciting idea: How can we transform Figma designs into Drupal Canvas components — using AI? #Drupal #DrupalCanvas #DrupalCon #React #Preact #NoCode #OpenSource #WebDevelopment #Innovation #AI #Figma

Why Drupal’s boring features are its best ones The shiny stuff — AI integrations, low-code builders, decoupled frontends — gets all the hype. But Drupal’s real staying power comes from the features that quietly do the heavy lifting every day. Views — the query builder that never quits. It turns any entity into sortable, filterable, paginated data without touching SQL. Half the “custom dashboards” you’ve seen in Drupal are just clever Views setups. Webform — not technically core, but so tightly integrated it feels like it. It handles surveys, registrations, and multi-step workflows that would take weeks to code anywhere else. JSON:API — built in, standards-based, and always consistent. It turns Drupal into a reliable data source for anything that needs structured content — no extra wiring required. Blocks — simple on the surface, but still one of the most flexible layout systems around. Context-aware placement, custom fields, reusable components — they quietly hold entire design systems together. Add configuration management, permissions, and caching, and you’ve got a platform that’s stable, predictable, and wildly adaptable — all without chasing trends. The point: Drupal’s “boring” features aren’t outdated. They’re what make the whole thing work. #Drupal #WebDevelopment #DigitalExperience #OpenSource #EnterpriseTech #Drupal10 #JSONAPI #Views #Webform #CMS

⚙️ From Figma to Drupal: Automating the Design-to-Code Pipeline with AI The “From Figma to Drupal” initiative showcases how AI can bridge the gap between UI design and Drupal implementation — translating Figma components into reusable Drupal blocks and templates. By leveraging AI-assisted code generation, this workflow automates: Converting Figma layers into structured Drupal theme components Mapping design tokens to Drupal’s configuration and style systems Generating Twig templates and YAML definitions dynamically 👨💻 Witze Van der Straeten, a Front-End Web Development student at Arteveldehogeschool in Belgium, is the developer behind this work. His journey with Drupal completely transformed how he approaches design, development, and community — showing how open source and AI can converge to redefine the creative and technical process. 🔗 Read the full story: From Figma to Drupal: My Journey into AI and Open Source: https://lnkd.in/dJzGp4As #Drupal #AI #Figma #OpenSource #DesignToCode #WebDevelopment #DrupalStarshot #Automation #Frontend
