Lockheed Martin is investing heavily in self-funded prototype development, aiming to demonstrate advanced capabilities directly to the U.S. government, CEO Jim Taiclet said on 20 October. The approach marks a shift toward "big-bet, home-run heavy allocation," including full-scale prototypes to prove scalable, reliable systems.
