Are you old? For my friends in colleagues in academia, I discovered a clear test this morning. Pull an old thesis or dissertation off your bookshelf. First of all, if you have a bound copy, that goes a long way toward answering the question 😂 👃Next, crack it open and smell it. If it smells like an old used bookstore, you have your answer!

Mike Chapple, the logical next opportunity for "one-uppmanship" is the answer to the question, "Did you type the thesis yourself, or write it out longhand and hire a typist?" If you hired a typist, you are in an elite few... 🤠
