I was 27 when Anita Hill testified. I was 28 (it was on my bday) when Sinéad O'Connor protested. I was 39 when The Chicks spoke up. I was 55 when Christine Blasey Ford testified. I was 62 when Delores Huerta told. They told their truth and the world pushed back. 👩🏻🤝👩🏻The Chicks and Sinéad O'Connor were blacklisted and boycotted for speaking out against established power structures. ⚖Anita Hill and Christine Blasey Ford both took and passed polygraphs and faced intense public scrutiny (even death threats), yet both Thomas and Kavanaugh became Supreme Court justices. 📢Delores Huerta, civil rights leader, kept silent for 60 years about the s@xual misconduct at the hands of Cesar Chavez. She wanted to protect the movement. Being an Ignited Leader, one who speaks with vulnerability, authenticity, and courage is hard, but at this point I don't have a choice. I don't want my children and their children to continue to live in a world where women are silenced, abused, and threatened. I'm getting LOUDER, Girl and stepping up as an Ignited Leader. I don't have a title or a stage or a platform but I do have a story and I'm telling it. Other ways to get louder: 1. Take good care of yourself. 2. Say "no." 3. Text a woman and say, "I see you." 4. Find joy. Remember a joyful woman is a dangerous one. 5. React, repost, and engage with other women like Miranda Mitchell, Cindy Gallop, Brittany L. Toliver, MBA, Velma Gallant, Stella Fosse, LA GLASSFORD, Cat Valyi, Laura Rubinstein, Gail Watson, Geraldine Spurway, Jenelle Kruse, and Prudence Uyungrwoth Let's get LOUDER, Girls! EnJOY! In BOLDness! With LOVE. #LouderGirl #IgnitedLeader #WomenInLeadership #PayWomen #Innovation #BelieveWomen
IGNITED LEADERSHIP: When Women Speak, the World Should Listen Ever have a moment when telling your truth feels like standing naked in a crowded room? I did ugly crying in a conference filled with experts, my shoulders shaking, unable to hide the feelings anymore. This week’s blog (see first comment) is a powerful dive into the hearts of women who dare to raise their voices: Sinéad O’Connor, Anita Hill, Christine Blasey Ford, The Chicks… and women everywhere who tell the truth, shake things up, and change the world. Truth-telling doesn’t guarantee justice, but it cracks open the silence. There’s a hush that settles when courage fills the air, and the world never looks the same again. If you’ve ever wondered how stories, yours, mine, and theirs, become a force for healing and change, you’ll want to read this. Get inspired to live ignited, find your community, and know you are seen. Read the blog & share your voice in the comments. Your story belongs here, too. #IgnitedLeadership #TellingTheTruth #ChangeMakers

Reading the “I was __ when” hit to my core. I will be 63 in a couple of months and ALL of this resonates painfully. Proud to support you and you Louder,Girl movement, truly. Thank you for amplifying on behalf of those who stood before us, and importantly as an ally of those who will come after. Xo
I LOVE your Loud List, Michelle!! When I got to your “other ways to get louder” list, my mind went straight to Red Riding Hood and the wolf’s “all the better to...” Take good care of yourself, all the better to keep going. Say no, all the better to honour your own voice. Text a woman, all the better to remind her she is not alone. Find joy, all the better to resist what tries to shrink you. There is so much power in the everyday choices that make women louder together.
I am aghast, every day, at what is happening around us. And I am lifted up, every day, by the bravery of women. Thank you for the call-out, Michelle. And let's remember the women of #Minneapolis who are leading with joy, solidarity, and bravery, in the best tradition of the #Matriarchs. Blessed be.
Getting louder is easier when people have your back. Let's have each other's back!
Michelle (Dr. Z) Zive, PhD have you met Isabel Draughon, ACC, CPCC ?
