Microsoft Expands SSMS 22 Preview 3 with ARM64 Support and Smarter Query Tools Microsoft has released SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 22 Preview 3, introducing several major updates. The biggest addition is initial ARM64 support for Windows users, a long-requested feature since SSMS 21. For now, it allows database connections and queries but not advanced tools like SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, or Profiler. GitHub Copilot also arrives in SSMS with limited functionality. Features such as code auto-completion will roll out gradually in future previews. Another standout is the Query Hint Recommendation Tool, which analyzes SQL performance and suggests query optimizations. Microsoft is also restoring SSIS features including catalog management, import/export wizard, maintenance plans, and automated package execution. Bug fixes include compatibility level changes in Database Properties, smoother scroll navigation in Object Explorer, stability improvements in Solution Explorer, and restored line and column indicators in the Status Bar. #Microsoft #SSMS22 #SQLServer #DatabaseTools #Developers #GitHubCopilot #ARM64 #SQLPerformance #SoftwareUpdate #TechNews #Windowslatest

The journey continues. The new version of the "btDatabase Converter" was released today in the Microsoft Store. It represents a huge step forward. In addition to the new PostgreSQL support, it includes database mapping, copy table content, copy data record, copy database, and copy table. Furthermore, schema name assignments and ODBC configuration has been reworked. The database mapping configuration can be performed via a semi-graphical interface. And last but not least, the metadata from the source and target database can optionally be loaded from connected databases (source and target).
